THE TOOLS

Having the right tools for the job makes every job easier. In order to ensure the best possible results, HAC uses Straightline Performance in New Lenox, Illinois as its base of operation.

THE DYNO
HAC has been using Straightline Performance’s Mustang MD-1100SE chassis dynamometer since it was first installed in 2004. If you wish to know more about dynamometers, click the “DYNAMOMETERS” link in the navigation bar above.

THE SOFTWARE
Tuning over 4,000 vehicles requires a lot of software and software licenses. HAC is experienced with HPTuners, SCT Advantage, DiabloSport CMR, BigStuff3, Holley EFI, and FAST XFI, to name a few. For instance, HAC has been using HPTuners’ software since v.1.04, when it required a computer with a serial port and came on a CD for installation. Since then, Michael, through his work at Straightline Performance, has filled an entire HPTuners’ MPVi Pro interface’s memory with vehicle licenses and is currently working on filling a second MPVi Pro interface.

THE COMPUTERS
The two laptops pictured above are provided by Dell. The one on the right is a 15″ Dell Inspirion Black Edition 2-in-1. The one on the left is a 15″ Dell XPS Black Onyx 2-in-1. Both have dedicated GPU’s and a 4K high resolution screen. While most tuners would say that such high end equipment is unnecessary for tuning; fast, high quality computers allow for a more efficient tuning process, considering there are nearly 20,000 files taking up over 50 gigabytes of storage in HAC’s archives.
